New Designs I Love and Exclusive to The Style Saloniste: The Vivid and Witty New L’Objet Design Collaboration

Elad Yifrach and Lito create Stylish New Home and Table Accessories for L’Objet.  I Iove their originality, the elegant and intense indigo colors, and their surreal and frisky imagery.

I’ve written about designer Elad Yifrach and his wonderful L’Objet accessories and home décor collections on THE STYLE SALONISTE before.

Now, Elad is branching out with an exciting new collaboration with an Athens-based jewelry designer. L’Objet founder, Elad Yifrach and fine jewelry designer Lito met in Mykonos following a chance encounter on a remote beach. Completely enchanted by the beautiful jewelry designs that Lito was wearing, Elad stopped to ask where she’d found such exquisite pieces. He discovered that they were her own creations.

That moment marked the beginning of a special collaboration between two creators, each of them with a passion for unique, artisanal beauty and global style. The new collections includes gold ceramic boxes of many dimensions, dinner plates, stationery, and practical containers for treasured possessions.

A Fantastic Collaboration — All About the Eye Symbol

A universal and surrealistic “talisman” of good luck and a traditional symbol of protection, the single eye serves as a constant reminder to be self-aware, to quickly dispel negative energy, and always to seek beauty in the everyday.

The eye is also a point of connection between two souls.

L’OBJET + Lito is a celebration of the connection, between two creators. The all-seeing open eye is a way to view these pieces and to see design in a whole new light.

The eye symbol (to ward off the ‘evil eye’) is also a very powerful symbol in Greece, Lito’s home.

I spoke to Elad Yifrach recently, and asked him how his collaboration with Lito was initated.

“It’s a funny story really. Lito and I met, completely by chance, on Mykonos. Our friendship began right that moment and I’m so happy to say that after some years, it has led to a completely organic, creative collaboration. I’m not sure how many other designers can say that. We share a passion for artisanal beauty and have a deep respect for each other’s craft. This collection was something we were so excited to create together and we’re really proud of the results.

The eye motif serves as a constant reminder to be open-minded, curious, wise, and kind. The eye is a timeless symbol and not all serious…the collection is also designed to add fun, whimsical touches to the day. Removing jewelry from the magnifying glass box in the morning, to penning a thank you note to a friend, to serving after dinner sweet treats on the small plates, these are pieces with purpose, but a little funny. The paperweight is my personal favorite – it’s a surreal piece that will add a bit of quirk to a desk or mantelpiece.” — Elad Yifrach, founder of L’Objet, and collaborator with Lito for this vibrant new collection, launching March 2018

Biography of Elad Yifrach

Born and raised in Israel he explored the Mediterranean region, worked in California and finally took up residence in New York.

Elad Yifrach is a lifelong traveler and a truly international spirit. It is the Mediterranean though that he feels most drawn to, and which inspires him in everything he does today as Founder and Creative Director of L’OBJET.

Elad began his career as an interior designer in Beverly Hills. While working for discerning clients he recognized a gap in the market for luxury tabletop products. Having always felt passionately that items for the home should be beautiful and should also embrace meticulous craftsmanship and functionality, he set out to achieve just that.

He founded L’OBJET in 2004 after months of designing, exploring and seeking out the world’s most skilled artisans. Today Elad continues to employ many of the same families of craftspeople whom he first came across in 2004, and together they produce beautiful works of art.

Elad currently lives in New York City. When he is not busy travelling and designing, he enjoys yoga and entertaining.

About Lito, and Lito Fine Jewelery

Athens-based Lito has a rare ability to gracefully roam between the realms of modernism, romance, science, ancient tribes and tradition with a confident finishing touch that few visionary artists can achieve.

It is the deep knowledge of all the worlds every woman carries inside her, alongside with meticulous craftsmanship and an aesthetic sense that has been perfected by sculpture studies at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris and technical drawing at the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Bijouterie, Joaillerie et Orfevrerie.

To India, to Japan, and Egypt to Russia, Lito travels in search of magnificent stones and uncommon materials.

Lito’s unique pieces have become instant collectibles and have honored the fashion shows of Kenzo and Jean Paul Gaultier couture and “pret-a-porter” collections.

Lito’s avant-garde work is showcased in Olivier Dupon’s book (Thames & Hudson) titled “The new Jewelers” — an anthology of rising talent in the field of jewelery creation across the globe, introducing the most emblematic new designers.

Since 1999, Cabinet des Curiosities, Lito’s atelier-boutique, is in the center of Athens. In 2011, Lito launched her wholesale distribution company and has gradually reached global markets across three continents.
