Reading your writing, Tim's inspiration and looking at his decor - is like smelling a classy scent from Houbigant - is 100% refinement to the core. His French interiors took my breath away. If Nancy Mitford or Diana Cooper was still alive, I think she would hire him to do her house decor, don't you?A Super Dilettantehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02640893790909916004[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543457325368639597.post-9283622647458378632009-10-20T23:05:20.810-07:002009-10-20T23:05:20.810-07:00Dear Elizabeth- Welcome and I'm so pleased to ...Dear Elizabeth-
Welcome and I'm so pleased to hear from you.
Quoting Emerson is such a fantastic inspiration.
Thank you so much, DIANEDiane Dorrans Saekshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02259292681678952448[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543457325368639597.post-13864730598310930902009-10-20T13:48:12.719-07:002009-10-20T13:48:12.719-07:00Dear Diane, I've just come across your site a...Dear Diane,

I've just come across your site and thoroughly enjoyed your reviews of
art and artists.

As said by Ralph Waldo Emerson..
When you come into a room, I think I will study how to make
Humanity beautiful to you....

Looking forward to seeing more.

Best,
Elizabethelizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15982873343318500397[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543457325368639597.post-22813736859863192252009-10-20T12:27:25.582-07:002009-10-20T12:27:25.582-07:00HI DEAR FRIENDS-- Greet (new friend, Dear Penny, L...HI DEAR FRIENDS--
Greet (new friend, Dear Penny, Little Augury, Gaj, Trouvais (love your blog), Suniga, and Kit-

Thanks so much for wonderful comments.
Timothy's rooms: they photograph well, and they are beautiful rooms to spend time in.
He has an art of making rooms in France feel 'French' but not in the cliche way. They feel traditional but fresh. Best of all, he seems to be able to capture light.
Penny: no, absolutely no freebies! I think they all go to the beauty bloggers!
In any case, I always love to know about designers' favorite paints and fabrics. For other designers this often confirms a selection (F&B colors for example) and for others it offers great inspiration. Designers spend years testing and retesting fabrics and paints and wallcoverings and I love to see their recommendations.
cheers to all, DIANEDiane Dorrans Saekshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02259292681678952448[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543457325368639597.post-43647901496733593592009-10-20T05:21:28.234-07:002009-10-20T05:21:28.234-07:00Dear Diane, I am so pleased to have discovered you...Dear Diane,
I am so pleased to have discovered your blog! One note regarding the Haussman edifice, this could not be 18th century, as Haussman did not invent the grande boulevardes of Paris until late 19th century, unless this residence exists from the 18th century but is surrounded in a Hausman apartment block, anything is possible! I am currently in Buenos Aires for the autumn, the French architecture here in Recoleta deserves your impeccable eye and commentary. Any chance of that in near future?Gajhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16745516360824619558[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543457325368639597.post-7891347318763503572009-10-13T06:11:34.365-07:002009-10-13T06:11:34.365-07:00another not to be missed Saloniste interview-espec...another not to be missed Saloniste interview-especially like the -Not taking oneself too seriously, His dinner party list-much like mine would be- and his take on where we truly get an education. thank you for perfection-laP.Gaye Tapp at Little Auguryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15115534755711063462[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6543457325368639597.post-4279095723664243452009-10-12T22:24:54.110-07:002009-10-12T22:24:54.110-07:00Hi Diane. What an accomplished, talented and well-spoken designer. The description of that chateau he saw in 1999 was incredible, I would love to see photos. I agree with his comments about how to bring an interior to life by mixing styles and periods. AND I was happy to learn about his favorite fabric, since I am looking for a linen for slipcovers this very moment! Thanks again.katiedidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12682823255667624459[email protected]
